How to follow this course

Get the most out of your learning experience

This page shows you how to use this handbook. A few simple habits will help you learn faster and remember more.

How is this handbook organized?

Think of a staircase. Each step is small, but each one sits on top of the one before. This handbook works the same way.

  • Sections are the tabs at the top, like AI Foundations or Vibe Coding.
  • Pages are in the sidebar. Each page teaches one topic.
  • Most pages explain an idea, show an example, and end with practice questions.

A simple routine for every page.

Go in order

Each page builds on the one before. Skipping ahead is like reading the last chapter of a book first. It might make sense, but you'll miss a lot.

Use the "Next" button at the bottom of each page to move forward. If you already know a topic, skim it and do the practice questions to check.

Try every prompt

Don't just read. Open an AI tool like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in another window. Then type or paste the prompts yourself.

Every prompt in this handbook is in a box like this, so you can copy it:

Prompt
Explain what a prompt is in 2 sentences,
like you are talking to a 12-year-old.

Your answer will not look exactly like anyone else's. That's normal. AI gives slightly different answers each time.

Put this handbook and your AI tool side by side on your screen. Switching back and forth becomes much easier.

Do the practice questions

Near the end of most pages, you'll find a few short practice questions. They are quick, and they show you what you really understood.

If you get one wrong, read the explanation. Then scroll back up and re-read that part of the page.

Use the AI assistant on this site

There is an AI assistant built into this site. You can ask it questions about any page at any time.

For example, you could ask:

Prompt
I don't understand the difference between a prompt
and a model. Can you explain it with an example?

There are no silly questions. If something is unclear, ask.

Keep a notes file

Create one simple text file on your computer called notes.txt. Use it to save useful things as you learn:

  • Prompts that worked well.
  • New words and what they mean.
  • Links to the apps you build.
  • Questions you want to come back to.
notes.txt
Tokens
- Token = a small piece of text the AI reads
- Good prompt: "Act as a teacher. Explain..."
- Question: why did the answer change when I asked again?
Later, you'll learn how to turn notes like these into project files that help the AI understand your app.

Common mistakes

  • Reading many pages in a row without trying anything.
  • Skipping the practice questions. They show you what you missed.
  • Trying to copy someone else's result exactly. Your app can be different. Make it your own.
  • Getting stuck in silence. Ask the site assistant or your AI tool for help.

What's next?

Now you know how to use this handbook. Next, let's look at what "zero-code" really means, and what is still your job when AI writes the code.
